MG 00 Qan[T] and Omegamon Reviews Coming Tonight!

Posted in Borderline Unrelated on November 30, 2010 by Knolly

Hey all.  So I was planning on doing an in-depth buildup review for both of these kits, but fate had other ideas.  Both of my camera’s batteries are discharged and I can’t for the life of me find the charger.

I built up Omegamon, since it was the simpler of the two kits, and will be doing a review of it later tonight (after I buy a battery charger).  The Qan[T] review will be in standard Knolly fare with a buildup review for each section that I’ll be starting tonight and finishing either tonight or tomorrow if I get a good rhythm going.

See you all soon!

Hey, haven’t been here in a year or so!

Anyhow, just wanted to pop in and make sure this was still working…  In a week or so I should get my MG 00 Quanta as well as my Digimon Reboot Omegamon kit (SO MUCH NOSTALGIA), and I’ll be doing reviews of both of them on my blog.  The pictures might not be as good as my last few reviews since I’m at college and don’t have my lightbox, but you can probably make due, haha.

I like my lightboxes like I like my women…

Lightbox1.jpg Lightbox2.jpg

The lightbox I assembled for the Exia review is shown above. I largely followed this tutorial to create the actual box. It is just an old Zappos box with three sides cut out and covered with tracing paper, and then I slid in a cut-to-size white posterboard.

The lighting setup is temporary at best… I have some overhead lights going, then my desk lamp shining from above, and then I hold the handheld light shown right next to the camera when I take the picture.

The results were great for the amount of effort I put into it… I just made it with things I had laying around and about 10 minutes. Good stuff.
